Virginia Ann "Ginger" Hamilton, 88, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026. She was born on October 20, 1937, in Goose Creek, Texas, to Carrol Ira McDonald and Lennie Viola Sheffield McDonald.

Ginger was raised in Baytown, Texas, where she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. On July 4, 1957, she married the love of her life, Edward Murry Hamilton, Sr., in Baytown. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work.

Throughout her life, Ginger lived in Baytown, Hempstead, and the Blue Ridge Community of Texas. She was a faithful member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church. She dedicated many years to serving others, working in the cafeteria for Hempstead ISD and later as a registered dietician at Waller County Hospital. She also owned and operated Ham's BBQ Restaurant in Hempstead, Texas. In addition to her professional roles, she was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. Ginger also sold Mary Kay cosmetics and later worked at Walmart, where she formed many friendships.

Ginger found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved gardening, took pride in mowing her yard, and had a special place in her heart for her dogs. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.

She is survived by her son, Eddie Hamilton, Jr. and wife Peggy of Blue Ridge; her daughter, Rebecca Woolever of Hempstead; five grandchildren, Tina Carrillo of Hempstead, Eddie Hamilton, III of Marlin, Billie Figueroa and husband Joe of Montgomery, Christopher Hamilton and wife Kayla of Groesbeck, and Kali Woolever of Spring; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
