Rose Fitte, 82, of Marlin, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 in Groesbeck. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 13, 2014 at The First Baptist Church in Marlin with the Reverend Mark Newton and Reverend Bill Ashburn officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 12th at Adams Funeral Home.Mrs. Fitte was born March 1, 1932 in Chilton, Texas to Robert and Genavieve (Suttle) Goelzer. She married Dr. Dwayne L. Fitte on January 28, 1951 in Chilton and they celebrated over 59 wonderful years together until his death on October 2, 2010. Mrs. Fitte was an active member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and work in the nursery. She was a former member of the Marlin School Board, loved working in her yard, playing tennis and genealogy. Her parents, husband and an infant son; James Eric Fitte preceded her in death.Survivors include her sons; John Mark Fitte of Augusta, SC, Paul Forest Fitte of Groesbeck and Malcolm Dave Fitte of Mexia, daughters; Martha Rose Lane of Groesbeck and Rachel Ann Heer of Huntington Beach, CA, brothers; Robert Goelzer, Ronnie Goelzer r and Richard Goelzer, sisters; Betty Hinton and Lynn Engelke, grandchildren; Cliff Fitte of Myrtle Beach, SC, Matthew Fitte of Houston, Jonathon Fitte of Myrtle Beach, SC, Adam Fitte of Midland, Amanda Summey of Rowlett, Lauren Fitte of Austin, Madeline Heer of Huntington Beach, CA, Meredith Heer of Huntington Beach, CA and Jonathan Stevener of Marlin and 4 great grandchildren.Memorial may be made to the First Baptist Church, 309 Coleman, Marlin, TX 76661 or to the Campus Crusade for Christ.
