Lonnie Ray Whitt was born October 3, 1940 and passed away on August 31, 2022. Lonnie was born and raised in the Austin area. Lonnie was happily married to his wife Bobbie (Nutt) Whitt for the past 36 years. They have lived a full life in Marlin, Texas for the last 36 years.
Lonnie was known as a master plumber for many years. Lonnie retired from The Texas Department of Criminal Justice as Maintenance Supervisor at the Gatesville Unit. After retirement, Lonnie found a hobby and interest in woodworking as well as researching his family tree. He could also be found with a book in his hand, when he was not visiting with his many grandchildren. That was one of his favorite past times.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his father Elroy and his mother Millie Whitt. He was also preceded by three brothers and seven sisters.
Lonnie is survived by his wife Bobbie Whitt, sister Mary, brothers Damon, Billy and Lloyd Whitt. daughters Tammy and husband, Terry Holstrom, Tracie Ehlers, sons Ricky and wife, Tina Whitt, Terry ad wife, Cory Whitt, Jeff and wife, Kim Whitt, Thomas Ehlers and wife, Libby. Lonnie is also survived by 12 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.
