Lester Lee Byer, 77, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, January 19, 2015 in Waco, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00a.m., Thursday, January 22, at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Reggie Blake officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:30p.m., Wednesday, January 21, at the funeral home.Lester was born in Marlin, Texas April 4, 1937 to Fritz Charlie and Minnie Lee (Pomykal) Byer. Lester had a lifetime of service to his community and fellow man. He was a member of the Old Time Baptist Church in Riesel, Texas. He served in the volunteer fire department in Sonora, Texas and the Lions Clubs of Sonora and Riesel, Texas. Lester was the first Judge for the City of Riesel. He was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.He is preceded in death by his parents; his two brothers, Sam Byer, and John Byer as well as his sister Mary Frances (Byer) Bandy. Lester is survived by his wife of 57 years Ann (Stricklen)Byer; daughter Lee Ann (Byer) Stewart and husband Robert of Riesel; son, Keith Byer and wife Viktoria of Glenbrook, Nevada; grandchildren, Michael and Daniel (and wife Amy) Stewart, Nicole and Alex Byer; great grandchildren, Mallory, Alyssa, Avery, and Maylan Stewart. He is also survived by his two brothers Fritz Byer and Thomas Byer as well as two sisters Ollie (Byer) Berka and Lillian (Byer) Thompson.
