L.D. Neumann, 92, of Riesel, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016 in a Waco hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, March 7, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church in Marlin with the Reverend Kurt Rutz officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 6th at Adams Funeral Home.Mr. Neumann was born on June 3, 1923 in the Saint Paul Community to Robert and Clara (Drews) Neumann. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel; confirmed April 10, 1937; his conformation verse was Romans 5:1. Mr. Neumann served his country in the United States Army during WW II serving in the Pacific with the 34th Engineers Combat Battalion. He married Irene Wellbrock on December 15, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel and they celebrated over 66 wonderful years together. Mr. Neumann farmed for many years and worked for the Falls County Road and Bridge until his retirement. He was a life time member of the DAV and Grace Lutheran Church. His parents preceded him in death.Survivors include his wife, Irene Neumann; sons, Gary Neumann and his wife, Deborah and Kirby Neumann and his wife, Janay; grandchildren, Krystal Watson and her husband, Jason, Jacob Neumann, Kayla Neumann, Erica Archer and her husband, Eric, Kaycie Baker and Kellie Thiele and her husband, Derek and great grandchildren, Zachery and Laney Archer and Clayton Thiele.
