Janie Oweida Wellman (Nutt), aged 81 passed peacefully on October 22nd, 2024, in Waco, Texas. Born on July 16, 1943, Janie was known for her loving, resilient nature and sternness when necessary. An avid baseball enthusiast, she relished watching the sport and other athletic events involving her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews. Her presence was impactful, leaving a memorable mark on everyone she met.

Janie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, James Wellman, her brothers Garry and Jimmy Nutt, and her parents James Marion Nutt and Wilma Dean Freeman. She is survived by her 4 sons, Phillip Wellman (Montee), Peter Wellman (Anna), Paul Wellman, and Daniel Wellman, She also leaves behind her sister, Rhonda Johnson (Richard), brother Ronnie Nutt (Javone), sister-in-law Kathy Nutt, sister-in-law Diane Scheler (Charles), brother-in-law Donald Wellman (Florence) as well as her 6 grandchildren, Britnee White, Brett Wellman, Nicole Wellman, Natalie Friend, Haley Wellman, Lindsey Wellman and 3 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces & nephews that looked to her as a grandmother.

Visitation will be held from 6-8pm on October 24,2024 at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin, Texas. The funeral service is scheduled for 10 AM on October 25,2024 at First Baptist Church in Marlin.

Janie Wellman's life was one of profound influence and heartfelt connections, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
