Homer R. "Jr." Swinnea, 77, of Reagan, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 in a Waco hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Adams Funeral Home with Pastor William Wright and Pastor Paul Swinnea officiating. Interment will follow in Waite Cemetery in Reagan. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Friday, March 4th at the funeral home.Homer Swinnea, Jr., Brother Homer of Gospel Lighthouse Church, Uncle Jr. to most of the family, Hun as in Hunter to some of the family and "Jr." to everyone else was born on May 28, 1938 in Reagan, Texas to Homer R. and Lucy Virginia (Adams) Swinnea. He was a lifelong resident of Reagan. Mr. Swinnea was a faithful follower of God and served as a Deacon in the Marlin Gospel Lighthouse Church. Jr. always took care of his family; his family was very important to him and he enjoyed working with cattle. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister; Frances Short and niece; Debbie Short Thigpen. Survivors include his brother; Bob Swinnea of Reagan, cousin; Jack Swinnea of Bristol, several nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews and dear friends.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gospel Lighthouse Church, 1009 Live Oak, Marlin, Texas 76661.
